Notes: The lighthouse is open to visitors Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Requires a down hill walk of .5 mile or so from the parking. There is a tunnel near the end of the trail, which is locked when the lighthouse is closed. You can not see the lighthouse when the tunnel is closed. There is also a suspension bridge that you must cross to get to the lighthouse. If you have a problem with heights, this will be a challenge.
Directions:
Take the first exit north of the Golden Gate Bridge and drive west, hugging the coast. There is a parking area near some Coast Guard housing where the 1/2 mile trail to the lighthouse begins.
